The Body Shop Tea Tree Concealer Review

♥ [REVIEW] The Body Shop Tea Tree Concealer

Hellooo~

Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on the Tea Trea Concealer from The Body Shop.

Description
A handy concealer stick infused with a triple blend of natural ingredients to help hide blemishes, without over drying the skin. Available in two shades to blend with all skin tones.

How to use
Apply a small amount directly onto blemishes and blend well as required, using your fingertips.

Key Ingredients
  • Community Trade tea tree oil from The Kenya Organic Farmers’ Association (KOOFA) - renowned for its natural purifying antibacterial properties to help soothe blemished skin.
  • Lemon tea tree - is highly aromatic.
  • Tamanu oil - sourced from Madagascar and is renowned for its natural purifying antibacterial properties.

This concealer does its job pretty nicely. It does not cover blemishes completely but it does make them less visible. I use this to cover my pimples and acne scars, I don't use it cover dark eye circles or anything. I notice that it does make my pimples less red and although it does not have high coverage, it does not clog my skin and is very light-weight.

The thing that appeals to me the most is the fact that it contains tea tree oil. TEA TREE :D WOOP!! It has a faint tea tree scent; its not overpowering or unpleasant. As you may know, the main purpose of tea tree oil is to help the healing of pimples. I don't think it does anything dramatic in terms of speeding along the healing process but I feel it does soothe and it definitely does not irritate my acne.

Something that bothers me though is that when I apply this concealer it makes dry patches on my skin more noticeable than I'd like. I don't know if it's just my skin. :( If you use this with the right BB cream you're good to go!

Pros
  • Small size, convenient to use. (Simple twist up concealer, looks like lipstick)
  • Does not irritate pimples
  • Contains tea tree oil, very natural ingredients
  • Soothes
  • Nice scent
  • Light weight (but keep in mind it does not provide high coverage)
Cons
  • Not very cost-friendly for me at $13.95 (AUD), there are cheaper concealers out there from Skinfood, Etude House and other Korean brands which I like. When compared to Revlon concealers and such where its around $20, this concealer is pretty cheap. Depends on how you look at it :/
  • Not very creamy which affects its blendibility

I don't think I'd repurchase this straight away as I would definitely like to try some other concealers out first but this concealer is not so bad and I would consider a repurchase in the future.

Please note results may differ from person to person. I have mildish/moderate acne and tend to get large red hormonal pimples D: blehhhh

For me the coverage isn't so great when it's by itself but I don't mind; I just feel better when I have it on because I like to think it covers the lot LOL.

Remember you don't have to look beautiful to feel beautiful ;) (sooo cheesy but hey! It's true. It's all about your mindset)
